Binocular vision allows our brain to perceive a single image even though our 2 eyes each record 2 slightly different images.
It is the combination of the sight from both eyes that, in particular, provides depth perception and enables the appreciation of distances. This function, which gives sight its sense of depth and relief, is only acquired during very early childhood, up to the age of 6.
Deficiencies in binocular vision manifest as difficulty in judging distances, fatigue, and disorders that can affect the entire body.
