New arrivals at Gucci: the Elton John heart glasses
There is something new at Gucci! The Italian luxury brand has launched two new sunglasses models dedicated to British singer Elton John, including one in a heart shape.
They were designed by Alessandro Michele.
These Gucci sunglasses are in the image of the pop rock star, displaying bold lines and vivid colours.
The Swarovski crystals adorning the frames of these Gucci Elton John sunglasses accentuate their luxurious and sparkling character.
The first model is the Elton John heart glasses, which he wore during his appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2019. We will return to this later in the article.
The second comes in an oversized square shape. The frame of these Gucci Elton John sunglasses is set with Swarovski crystals and micro-studs.
It is made of acetate in dark blue, while the lenses are orange in colour. The interlocking double G logo appears on the temples.
The two new pairs belong to the Hollywood Forever collection and form the special Gucci Elton John sub-collection.
The sunglasses worn by Elton John at Cannes
The Elton John heart glasses were seen on 16 May 2019 during the Cannes Film Festival.
Having made the traditional walk up the steps for the screening of the biographical film Rocketman, Sir Elton John expressed his extravagant style with this flamboyant frame.
These Gucci Elton John sunglasses are characterised by a frame made up of two hearts, in dark blue acetate with glitter.
Swarovski crystals, placed on the front of the frame and on the temples, add sparkle to this pop-style pair.
The brand name appears in full on the temples of these sunglasses. The lenses, for their part, are cherry red in colour.
They offer 100% protection against UVA and UVB rays.
The Elton John heart glasses and the square sunglasses from the same collection are delivered in a superb pink velvet case with the Gucci Elton John label and golden stars.
They also come with a lovely satin pouch.
For the British singer, appearing in sunglasses with an original look is far from a first.

Screening of the film Rocketman and mini-concert on the beach
On 16 May 2019, it was wearing his heart-shaped Gucci sunglasses that Elton John attended the screening of Rocketman at the Cannes Film Festival.
This film, screened in the official selection (out of competition), tells the story of the singer, who also co-produced it.
It is rising British cinema star Taron Egerton who was cast as Elton John in this biopic directed by Dexter Fletcher.
The film Rocketman was named after the song Rocket Man, released by Elton John in 1972.
Sir Elton John performed a mini-concert on the beach right after the screening of Rocketman. He notably performed the track I'm Still Standing.
Taron Egerton, who is also a singer as well as an actor, joined him in this performance.
